Intentional Gratitude…

Here we are. October! I’ll be celebrating another anniversary of my beautiful and blessed life. I’m intentionally writing down all the times God’s presence has been palpable even when I thought I was slugging it out by myself. I’m realizing that has never been the case. Even in my darkest moments He has always been having my back, as we say in the back roads.

How is it going for you? Hope you are in a very good place in life right now. As long as we are breathing, as my mother used to say, we can handle it. Meaning “Bring it on.” Well, have to be careful when we say something like that, because the bringing can get and be really tough.

Going to visit with my daughter and her family, especially my two grandchildren. They are so insanely smart! One day during my last visit, I was trying to speak Mandarin, French, Spanish and Portuguese with my granddaughter, and after a while, my grandson, who is five years old, looked at us and said, “can we speak human language, please!” Meaning, can we speak English? He had enough of us trying to speak languages he didn’t comprehend or understand yet.

I love being with them and look at life through their lenses at this moment of their lives. It just fascinates the heck out of me how advance and at the same time so elegantly simple their interpretation of life happenings is. They make the complicated simple. Maybe that’s why it sounds familiar the saying in the Bible, that to pass through the gates to Heaven, you have to become a child again.

October was chosen by my Creator to deliver me into this world and I’m so glad He did. It is a great month to be born into this planet.

I sound a bit discombobulated, but then so is life and I won’t have it any other way. I’m celebrating my late seventh decades on this planet. Feel so wise, grateful and liberated because I’m doing and living my life in my own way. Doing it my way, as Frank Sinatra used to say.

Life is good and God is amazingly great!

Stay blessed and happy always.

Until next time.

P.S. That selfie I took just minutes before I left for my aerobics class last Monday. Yeah, grateful for that too.
